A Message from the

Assistant Principal

Hello! My name is Ms. Lauren McMahon, and I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal at Wallace Elementary School. 

I have always aspired to be an educator, and my favorite part of this profession is the relationships I build with students, teachers, and families each year. As a proud product of Duplin County Schools, I love that I am able to serve the community where I was raised!

Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy is rooted in two important beliefs:

Building Genuine Relationships: I believe that cultivating genuine relationships with all stakeholders builds trust and opens the lines of communication. This provides a strong foundation to work from.

Lifelong Learning: I believe that everyone can learn! Cultivating lifelong learners is a primary goal of educators around the world. Being curious, solving problems, learning new skills, improving areas of weakness, and being receptive to others are all ways we can be lifelong learners.

Communication and collaboration between school and home are essential for the success of our students. I encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s education, whether through volunteering, attending school events, or simply staying in touch with our staff.
